Dr. Matias Fortini

Matias was born in Rancagua, Chile. Growing up close to his grandmother’s livestock farm generated his passion for animal production. Matias graduated from Universidad Austral de Chile (UACh) in Valdivia in 2012 obtaining his degree in Veterinary Medicine. He joined the health department of AGROSUPER in 2014.

Dr. Marco Antonio Barrera Aldana

Marco was born in Villa del Carbón, Mexico state. Taking care of his dad’s pigs as a kid inspired him to aim for vet school. He became a veterinarian in 2013 from Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas and started working with swine medicine and production.

Francisco Cabezon

Francisco Cabezon was born in Chile in 1985. He received his bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering at the Universidad Catolica de Chile in 2011. In 2012 Francisco worked for Agrosuper, the largest pork producer in Chile with 135,000 sows and approximately 4,000,000 pigs marketed per year.

Paul Frahm

Paul attended Southeast Tech and graduated in 2006 with an AAS in Accounting. He began his career with Pipestone as a sow farm Swine Tech and worked his way up to Site Manager. In 2013, Paul transitioned to the Research team and now serves as the Director of Research Operations.

Roy Edler

Roy Edler holds a Master’s Degree from Iowa State University and is currently serving as Biostatistician for Pipestone. Before joining Pipestone in July 2017, he worked for Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica for 17 years where he held a similar position as Manager of Field Research Services.

William Steenstra

Bill Steenstra is from Leota, MN where he grew up raising pigs, chickens, and horses. In 1990, he earned his Associate of Arts degree in Natural Resources from Brainard Tech. Since then, he has continued his education by completing various courses toward a Bachelor of Science degree.

Erin McCoy

Erin McCoy grew up on a 200-sow farrow-finish farm in southwest Minnesota. She has been a team member at Pipestone serving in various roles throughout her high school and college days, graduating in 2008 from South Dakota State University with a B.S. in Animal Science.

Cesar Cortes Colmenarez

Originally from Maracay, Venezuela, Cesar Cortes has been heavily involved in the agriculture industry from a young age. He grew up on his uncle’s farm tending to cows and goats, along with cultivated peppers. He graduated in 2008 from Universidad Romulo Gallegos in San Juan de los Morros, Venezuela with a degree in agricultural engineering.

Eric Cleveringa

Eric Cleveringa is a 2009 graduate from Iowa State University with a bachelor of science degree. Eric joined Pipestone in January 2022 and currently serves as a veterinary physician assistant for Pipestone Veterinary Services. Eric and his wife, Jennifer, and they have four boys, Camden, Creighton, Kinnick, and Karson.

Travis Wright

Travis Wright is a Graduate from Illinois State University for his bachelor’s degree and received his DVM from Purdue University. He joined Pipestone in 2022 and currently serves as a veterinary physician assistant for Pipestone Veterinary Services. Travis and his wife, Taylor have a daughter named Peyton and two dogs.
