Monte Hickman graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in Animal Science and a minor in Ag Business. Monte joined Pipestone in June 2011 and has held many different positions with Pipestone but currently serves as a Nutrition Account Manager. Monte enjoys spending time with his son, Kash.

Shantel Vis

Shantel grew up on a farm in southwest Minnesota, raising Simmental cow/calf pairs and managing a feedlot and row crops. She graduated from South Dakota State University in 2019. Shantel gained experience working in various roles at Pipestone and now serves as the Feed Ordering Manager. Shantel and her husband Cole have a daughter, Nova.

Jim Marzolf

Jim Marzolf is a Minnesota native who graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. in Animal Science; followed by an Executive MBA from Purdue University. Jim brought his experience in livestock production, finance, and business management to Pipestone in 2019 and serves as Executive Vice President of Pipestone Business.

Damon Vander Maten grew up on a family farm in Southwest Minnesota, where he continues to be actively involved in farming with his family. He earned a B.S. in Finance with a minor in Economics from Dordt College in 2016 before joining PIPESTONE.

Erin Little

Erin Little graduated from South Dakota State University with a B.S. (’15) in animal science and M.S. (’19) in swine genetics. She originally began with Pipestone Research managing day-to-day activities in the research barns. Today she serves as the Director of FarmStats.

Giovanna Penuelas

Giovanna grew up in San Luis Huexotla, a small rural community in Texcoco, State of Mexico, Mexico. She obtained a Doctorate in Veterinary from Murcia University in Spain in 2005 and brought her experience to Pipestone in August 2022. She is currently the FarmTeam Coordinator for Pipestone Business.

Chad Berentschot

Chad Berentschot is a graduate of Iowa State University where he received his degree in Animal Science. Chad and his wife, Erin, have four daughters. He enjoys farming with his father and brother-in-law. They have a small hobby farm with cow-calf pairs, a wean-to-finish barn along with corn and soybeans.

Dr. Cameron Schmitt was raised in central Iowa and is a second generation large animal veterinarian. Dr. Schmitt joined Pipestone Veterinary Services and Pipestone Management in 2002 after graduating from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Adam C. Schelkopf grew up in Dekalb, Illinois and gained an appreciation for swine medicine by following his father to vet calls and working on swine farms through high school and college. He completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois in 2012.

Dr. Joseph Yaros grew up out East with three twin brothers (a twin himself and younger twin brothers) on a 1,000-ewe sheep farm. Caring for livestock and understanding the management of the flock inspired Joseph to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, graduating from Cornell University in 2016.

Dr. Jeff Blythe was raised on a crop and livestock farm in Williamsburg, Iowa. He graduated from Central College with a B.A. in Biology. In 1991 he graduated with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University. In 1992, Dr. Blythe joined the Orange City Vet Clinic and became a partner in 1994.
