Management

Since our founding in 1988, Pipestone Management has been dedicated to helping family farmers succeed by providing a consistent, high health wean pig supply. Our unique model allows farmers to retain ownership of their farms while focusing their time and resources at home. Today, we manage over 80 farms across the Midwest, partnering with more than 450 family farmers.

Independent Farmer Ownership

Farmers invest in sow farms alongside like-minded independent farmers, retaining ownership while entrusting us to manage the breed-to-wean process. This partnership allows farmers to focus on finishing pigs and managing their operations. They receive a proportional allotment of wean pigs based on their shares.

High Health Wean Pigs

Animal health is at the heart of everything we do. Through rigorous biosecurity measures, advanced research, and innovative processes, we ensure a consistent supply of high health wean pigs.

Focus on Biosecurity

We maintain strict biosecurity measures to prevent disease and ensure the health of every pig. Our farms implement a comprehensive set of protocols for visitors and staff and utilize advanced air filtration systems. We provide bio-secure, temperature-controlled transportation services for wean pigs, ensuring they arrive at their destination in optimal health.

“Our hogs are our bread and butter, and our hogs are only as good as our sow farm. For 20 years now, I really don’t think I have ever doubted the abilities of Pipestone Management. When I think of Pipestone, I think of them as honest. They could have done this all for themselves; instead, they did all this work for us farmers. They are truly FOR the family farmer.”
