Dr. Bryan Myers Honored as Swine Practitioner of the Year

Dr. Bryan Myers, a dedicated leader in swine medicine and production, has been named the 2024 Swine Practitioner of the Year by the American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV). This prestigious award recognizes a veterinarian who has demonstrated an extraordinary level of proficiency and effectiveness in serving swine producers. Dr. Myers’ commitment to animal health, progressive agriculture, and farmer success has distinguished him as a true advocate for the industry.

Dr. Myers was recognized, and the award was announced at the annual AASV conference on March 3, 2025.

With a veterinary career spanning over 36 years, Dr. Myers has played a pivotal role in advancing swine health and production models. He has spent the last 16 years with Pipestone Veterinary Services, where he currently serves as a practicing Veterinarian, Relationship Manager, and Director of Health – East Region. His expertise in swine medicine, disease prevention, and livestock management has made a lasting impact on swine producers throughout the Midwest and beyond.

Dr. Myers’ contributions extend far beyond the clinic. As an industry leader, he has been a guest speaker at key conferences, including the World Pork Expo, the Iowa State University James D. McKean Swine Disease Conference, and the AASV Pre-Conference Seminars. His insights have also been featured in leading agricultural publications such as Farm Journal PORK and Farm Progress. His dedication to knowledge-sharing and industry advancement continues to benefit producers and veterinarians alike.

A strong advocate for collaborative progress, Dr. Myers exemplifies the mission of Pipestone: “Helping Farmers Today Create the Farms of Tomorrow.” He works tirelessly to support Midwest livestock producers, helping them navigate challenges and position themselves for long-term success. His work has not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by his past recognition as a Master Pork Partner by the Iowa Pork Producers Association in 2016.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Myers is committed to his community. He has served as a paramedic with the Farley, IA EMT for over a decade and is an elder in his local church.
